Hello Creative Friends, welcome to this limited Summer newsletter. I’m Océane, I’m passionate about inspiring people to be creative and showing them the power of an easy prompt.
This is a 6-week newsletter for the curious minds. It’s super easy: one post a week with a simple prompt to spark creativity.
If you’re new to this publication, become a FREE subscriber by signing up to ensure you receive all of my posts.
Hello friends,
How was your deep dive into the world of creative envy last week? If you want to share your experience with us please do.
I think it’s important to acknowledge that it’s not an easy topic and if you didn’t feel like you could do the prompt because it brought up too many negative feelings then of course you were right to give it a miss. Your wellbeing is very important to me!
Once again if you’ve missed the previous tasks, you can find them below.
WEEK TWO - CREATIVE DATE
For this week’s prompt, I’m borrowing from Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way which I had heard of for years before actually starting to read.
Reading it for the 1st time last year, I felt understood, vulnerable and inspired. It is a real journey into yourself and creativity.
If you want to find out a little bit more, the lovely Sarah Robertson from These are the Days has an introductory blog post about it here.
In the book, Julia Cameron talks about going on an Artist’s Date (a date with your inner artist) which is essentially what I’m suggesting you do.
Quite simply your prompt this week is to go on a Creative Date, by yourself or with someone (I’m not being restrictive here). Go to an art exhibition, the cinema, bowling, visit an antique’s market etc. whatever activity you enjoy and might spark your creativity.
A STEP FURTHER
In The Artist’s Way, an Artist’s Date occurs weekly but I know how busy you are (so am I!) so if you want to take this task a step further, plan a monthly Creative Date for the next 3 months.
Research your activities and visits, block out 3 afternoons in your calendar so that you stick to it.
What will you be doing? Tell me, I’d love to know .
Next week is the last week of our time together on this Summer Simple Creativity Newsletter.
I can’t believe it!
Have you enjoyed it? If you have any feedback for me. Please let me know!
See you next week,
Océane xoxo
